​​Hybrid Work Schedules + Paid Time Off

FHLBank Boston enables employees to split their work time between the office and remotely. Employees must work in our modern office two days a week minimum. To support our employees residing in New England, we offer a transportation benefit program for public transit and/or parking with a Bank paid subsidy of up to $150 per month.

Employees can use paid time off during the year:

  • Vacation (accrued based on length of service),
  • Up to two paid personal days off each year,
  • Up to two paid days off each year to volunteer,
  • 11 paid holidays, and
  • 10 days of sick time, which can be used for personal needs or family needs.

Employees are also provided paid leave benefits under the Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave (“PFML”) Act if employees are unable to work for certain reasons.

​​Health + Wellness Plans

The health of our employees and their dependents is of paramount importance. We offer medical, dental, and vision plans, a Health Savings Account, and Flexible Spending Account, a fitness subsidy, and an employee assistance program. We also offer various wellness-related activities throughout the year including an annual wellness day for onsite flu vaccines and events. 

  • Medical Plan: Employees have a choice of four (4) comprehensive HMO or PPO medical plans.

  • Health Savings Account (HSA): Employees enrolled in the Bank's HSA-eligible medical plan can set aside pre-tax dollars for current or future healthcare-related expenses and receive a Bank contribution.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts: Employees can set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible health and/or dependent care expenses.
  • Annual Fitness Subsidy available

Employees can participate in a 401(K), with a non-elective contribution equal to 6% of base salary and match that increases at certain service anniversaries.

​​Professional Development + Other Benefits

We value professional development and certifications for our employees. In addition to Bank-guided training, employees often engage in role-specific development opportunities and events. Our Academic Assistance Benefit pays up to $7,500 per calendar year for accredited job- or career-related courses or degree programs. We also offer $100 per month as part of our Student Loan Repayment Assistance Program to help employees pay off their student loans.
